Sora 2
1st November 2025
Sora was first released in December 9, 2024, it was a good video generation model. It had lots or room to improve. After almost a year, we now have Sora 2. A state of the art video generation model that is really good, especially at realism.
Sora App
Sora is available to use in an iOS only app, and is invite only. Though it isn’t that hard to get an invite. The app features a clean, intuitive interface that makes it easy to create videos with just a few taps. Users can input text prompts, adjust settings like duration and aspect ratio, and watch as Sora generates high-quality videos in minutes.
“Cameos”
They also released a feature called “cameos” in which you upload a likeness of yourself so you or everyone else in the world can use it, though I am concerned about where that data is going. Sam Altman has made his cameo public.
The feature works by analyzing facial characteristics and expressions to create realistic digital avatars that can be inserted into AI-generated videos. While this opens up creative possibilities for personalized content, it raises important questions about consent, privacy, and the potential for misuse in deepfake scenarios.
AI Slop
We have been seeing a rise in AI generated content recently, most people use AI because it is fast, easy and low effort. This is also seen in the result, content that gives you “brain rot”, this is especially bad for small creators because these AI generated videos generate more views that human made videos.
Final Thoughts
Sora 2 represents a significant leap forward in AI video generation technology, but it also highlights the growing concerns around AI generated content and its impact on creative industries. While the technology is impressive and accessible, we must carefully consider how we use these tools and their broader implications for authenticity, privacy, and the value of human creativity.
